How it works
The deposit grows at a constant nominal annual rate. Choose the compounding frequency offered by your product. Quarterly compounding divides the annual rate by four and applies it four times per year.
Inputs and units
| Input | Example value | What to enter |
|---|---|---|
| Deposit amount | ₹1,00,000.00 | Required unit: ₹. Must be greater than zero. |
| Annual interest rate | 7 % | Enter the percentage as a number: for 15%, enter 15. Use the annual rate. Use a non-negative value. Allowed range: 0–100. |
| Tenure | 24 months | Required unit: months. Use a whole number. Must be greater than zero. Allowed range: 1–600. |
| Compounding | Quarterly | Check the selected option before calculating. |

Reading the result
Match the rate period to the payment period. Fees and taxes absent from the inputs are not added automatically; compare totals with the same cost coverage.
Quarterly compounding versus a quarterly payout
Compounding adds interest to the balance so it can earn further interest. A payout sends the interest out instead. This calculator models reinvestment and should not be read as a payout schedule.
Match your deposit’s conventions
The table compares frequencies at the same nominal annual rate. A bank may use day-based or broken-period rules rather than fractional periods. Use the product terms for a precise maturity quote; tax withholding is not subtracted here.
Compare different scenarios
Inputs held constant: Deposit amount: 1,00,000 ₹ · Annual interest rate: 7 % · Tenure: 24 months.
| Compounding | Estimated maturity value |
|---|---|
| Yearly | ₹1,14,490.00 |
| Quarterly | ₹1,14,888.18 |
| Monthly | ₹1,14,980.60 |
Questions and answers
Can I use the example values for my own calculation?
The example values illustrate the calculation. Replace every input with your own information, especially dates, rates and the selected operation.
Will the maturity exactly match my bank?
Not necessarily. Banks can use specific day-count rules, broken-period interest and rounding. This calculator uses month-based fractional compounding and excludes TDS and premature-withdrawal penalties.
Why are some results rounded?
Results display up to 8 decimal places. Calculations use the unrounded values; very small values use scientific notation. JavaScript floating-point arithmetic can introduce tiny rounding differences.
Are my inputs sent to a server?
The calculator processes inputs in your browser. Its code does not send your values to a server.
